Innovate “U”Providing leadership, problem-solving training for CCSD students

In 2021, the UGA Office of the President partnered with the Clarke County School District to develop Innovate “U”. Since then, four cohorts have completed the summer program.

InnovateU is a leadership and entrepreneurship summer program built for Clarke County School District high school students, sponsored by the UGA Office of the President and coordinated by the J.W. Fanning Institute for Leadership Development and the College of Family and Consumer Sciences.

The month-long summer program builds students’ leadership, communication, and teamwork skills through interactive sessions led by UGA faculty. Using a human-centered design thinking process, students work in teams alongside UGA mentors and local business partners to develop innovative solutions to real-world challenges. The program culminates in a final presentation where students share their ideas with UGA and community leaders.
