First developed in 2017 with the support of a local donor, the Nonprofit Leadership Learning Community develops the capacity of nonprofit leaders to be effective leaders while providing a platform for continuing partnership and mutual support in the field. The inaugural program included 12 participants from nonprofit organizations around the Athens-Clarke County area.
Through the Nonprofit Leadership Learning Community, participants engage in discussion, reflection and action designed to examine and strengthen high-quality individual leadership skills and create a strong, meaningful, empowered peer group.
The Nonprofit Leadership Learning Community focuses on content and practice that:
- emphasizes, teaches, and models the engagement of people as resources, respecting, and maximizing the potential and talents of all;
- utilizes inquiry to identify core issues; and
- builds self-awareness while allowing the group to grow together as leaders
