The UGA J.W. Fanning Institute for Leadership Development has announced conference tracks for the upcoming 2018 Community Leadership Conference.

Organized by the Fanning Institute, the third annual Community Leadership Conference will take place on Feb. 22 – 23, 2018, at the UGA Center for Continuing Education & Hotel.

2018 marks the first time that the conference has utilized specific tracks to organize presentations and workshops.

“Grouping presentations into distinct tracks lets conference attendees either immerse themselves in a specific area of interest or attend sessions across different tracks to gather a breadth of knowledge,” said Fanning Institute Director Matt Bishop. “We feel this format will enhance the conference experience for participants and allow them to reap the greatest benefit for themselves and their communities or organizations.”

The first of the four conference tracks is based on this year’s conference theme, “Inspired to Lead.” Presentations in this track will focus on tips and strategies for people to keep themselves, their programs, and their communities inspired about leadership development.

A second conference track will feature presentations on innovations in leadership programs, while a third track will highlight best practices in leadership development programming, covering topics like recruitment, content, evaluation, and sustainability.

The fourth and final conference track will focus on leadership in nonprofit organizations, with presentations highlighting leadership development approaches and strategies tailored to the nonprofit sector and dealing with areas like volunteer management, board governance, and strategic planning.

“Again in 2018, the Community Leadership Conference will bring together a tremendous group of individuals who will share their expertise and experiences regarding leadership development in many areas,” said Bishop. “We look forward to communities and organizations attending the conference, learning, and then returning home to enhance their leadership development efforts.”
