Leadership Without Limits is a leadership program for migrant youth from around the state funded by the Migrant Education program.
Rising high school sophomores and juniors live in college dorm rooms and participate in English Language Arts classes and leadership workshops. Participants rely on their communication and teamwork skills to conquer the challenge course at UGA’s Ramsey Student Center.
The students – with the assistance of UGA student mentors – explore team building, group dynamics and various styles of leadership through activities and presentations.
The students visit both Athens Technical College and UGA Undergraduate Admissions to become acquainted with the admissions and enrollment process for both schools.
Participants evaluate their leadership styles and communication skills, and discuss how to improve and utilize those skills in alternative situations. They also identify and research issues they see as critical problems facing their generation and the migrant farm worker community.
