Mediation training is for individuals who want to register as mediators in the state or who desire to master the skills of conflict resolution and problem solving. The Georgia Office of Dispute Resolution requires that mediators complete an approved 28-hour course and either observe 5 actual cases or complete a 12-hour observation course to register as a mediator in the state of Georgia.

The Fanning Institute offers two courses in mediation training:

• 28 hour general civil course approved by the Georgia Commission on Dispute Resolution – a Georgia Supreme Court Commission
• 12 hour mediation observation course (practicum) approved by the Georgia Commission on Dispute Resolution – a Georgia Supreme Court Commission

Upon completion of both courses, participants meet the classroom requirements to register as a mediator in the state of Georgia.
