This past weekend, participants in the DeKalb Neighborhood Leadership Institute – a 3-month long program focused on potential and emerging economically-challenged leaders in DeKalb County – celebrated graduation.

The Fanning Institute provided the content of the program to engage participants in a variety of leadership skills development. Participants completed a Leadership Practices Inventory (LPI) to explore each person’s effectiveness as a leader, identified strengths and stretches to develop individual future plans, and determined actual and perceived barriers along with the skills needed to face those barriers with confidence.

These graduates are well on their way to becoming more active community members.
