Bio

In her role at the Fanning Institute, Karen is responsible for providing database management support to Fanning Institute faculty and staff as well as all unit reporting. Karen designs, develops, and implements information systems, web-based surveys, and computerized data files. She also is responsible for the advanced design and analysis of customized reports. In 2014, she received the Public Service and Outreach Staff Award for Excellence.

Karen has worked at the University of Georgia since 1985. From 1989 to 2005, she served as a data management specialist at the Small Business Development Center, where she managed and maintained the Georgia Client Counseling Management Information System and the Georgia Continuing Education Information System, provided technical support for 19 statewide centers and handled reporting to local, state, and federal agencies. She was also a SBDC data entry clerk from 1985 to 1989, handling data entry and processing as well as reporting.
