CARE USA Early Childhood Development HIV/AIDS Planning Retreat
| Abstract |
Fanning Institute Faculty members Langford D. Holbrook, Raye Rawls and Janet Rechtman collaborated with CARE USA and SAVE to design a planning retreat for international nongovernmental organizations, other nonprofit organizations and academic institutions to develop a strategy to develop an essential package of services and policies for children impacted by HIV/AIDS. On September 17th and 18th Janet and Langford facilitated the planning retreat. The session was held at the Brookings Institute in Washington, DC. Organizations represented included Brookings, CARE USA, SAVE, Speak for the Child, UNICEF, CCF, USAID, Georgia State University, Harvard Center for Development of the Child, California Polytechnic, US Department of Health and Human Services, CDC, Hilton Foundation, The World Bank and others. The outcomes from the session will be used as CARE USA and SAVE move forward with development of the essential package. |
