This Academy will begin at 1 pm on September 24 with a discussion of brownfields redevelopment in Georgia, including state incentives and project examples. A U.S. EPA Grant Workshop and Panel Discussion will follow, allowing participants to learn about the types of funding available and how to apply for funding. Addressing Seller Reluctance will offer strategies for dealing with current owners of brownfield properties and ideas for difficult sellers. In the final session of the day, a Georgia community will “practice” marketing itself and an identified brownfield property to a lender, a potential investor, and an environmental insurance agent and will field questions from all professionals. September 25 starts with a panel discussion of several brownfield redevelopment projects with perspectives from developers, bankers, environmental consultants and regulators. Then a second Georgia community will “practice” marketing itself and an identified brownfield property to a lender, a potential investor, and an environmental insurance agent and will field questions from all professionals. The Academy will adjourn at noon after a discussion of future options.
